Punctuation issues on iPhone

Hi all! I've been having a problem on my iPhone 14 since yesterday. For some reason, VoiceOver started reading all punctuation, even if I choose some or none. I rebooted my phone a few times, and then updated it to iOS 18. But nothing changed. Could you give me a piece of advice? What else can I do to solve this issue? Has anybody had such a problem?

Did you check on your rotor to make sure it is on some and not all?

Yes, I did. This is the issue I was talking about. I choose none in the rotor, but I hear all the punctuation.

Please check the activities option, programming might be selected. just verify that no activity selected is the selected option.

Sometimes the programming activity gets activated for some reason, and it throws things out of whack. Disable this, and punctuation readout should go back to normal. ☺️

I had the same problem of not being able to change the punctuation from "all" to another setting.

Someone on this list recommended exactly the suggestion above, i.e., look for what was set in the "Activities" option of the rotor. Mine had inadvertently gotten set to "Programming". Once I changed that, the problem was fixed.

Interesting that the punctuation settings for the "Programming" option can't be changed as can other options like the voice speed.
