Dice World® 6 Fun Games

I agree with everything Ryan has said in his previous post. This is a fun game with a few little issues. I have actually been corresponding with the Developers and they have asked me to test upcoming releases. Ryan if you are interested in helping with this let me know so I can give them your email. I have the version with the advertisements on it, still. I am finding the app to be slow as though it is hanging up. Is it because of the ads? Thanks.

Sometimes I did find that the add slowed things down, depending on which add it was.

Hello again, Thank you for letting me know that you have had lag issues with the app because of the advertisements. I would be interested in helping to beta test the game too. Going to fix those adverts and buy the app.

Not certain why but it has appeared that this game is now has been removed from the App Store. There are no indications of why it has been removed on the developers site. So I will try to contact the developer and see what happend.

The developer of Dice World was very quick in getting back to me. Here is what they had to say why it was removed from the App Store. "We had a major technical issue that was causing issues for new players. We had to pull the game to get it fixed. The new version has been submitted to Apple.. And we are just waiting for them to release. Sorry for the hassle." No hassle with me! ;) Just glad to see this had a minor glitch and will be returning to the store soon. So I will let everyone know when this is back up in the store.

I think Apple pulled the app from the the app store. Wife told me about it a couple of days ago, but I didn't see it their. Its a shame.

Not certain if you hadn't read Comment #6 that I left? In a nutshell the developer of the game had to pull their app out of the store. So it wasn't Apple that pulled it. It was pulled to a major glitch with the logon. This has been corrected and they are currently waiting for Apple to approve the app for its return. So I am excited about it. We have also discussed about seeing how we can improve this app. So hpefully this will happen as I really love this game.

Yes, definitely don't give up on dice world, I received a smimilar note on why the developers pulled the app. There are loads of people playing and the developers are very responsive and really want everyone to have a level playing field.

DiceWorld is back in the App. store. Hopefully those of us who are signed up to help the developers will have some good news as far as new VO fixes.

having major error issues on the update, they are definitely trying to work out bugs.

If you have installed the update and you are getting an error about your roll not being submitted, un install the app and just install again, acording to dice world's fb page, this will fix the problem.

If you get a message when trying to play a game saying, something to the effect you need to resubmit your roll again, but you get an error doing so...then you will need to uninstall and reinstall...the­n things should be cleaned up. We are putting in some code to catch network errors and didn't get a chance to test it as fully as we should have due to the Facebook issues that came up. Anyway, uninstalling and reinstalling should fix it. Thanks for sticking with us!

Hi to all. Please is this game available for Ipad as well? I have read in the app store that Ipad user can play it. My friend, who has Ipad, cannot find it in the app store for some reason. Thank you for your help in advance.

I play it on an iPad. It works fine. I think this app was temperarily removed from the App Store, but now it is back. Also, your friend may check when searching for this app if the "Iphone apps," button is checked in the App Store when searching. Has anyone played Yatsi? I don't understand.

I do play Yahtzee on there I'm using an ipod tuch 5th gen What are you having issues with, hopefully I can help

Hi Everyone. First off I would like to say thank you for the tremendous support that some of you have given us in testing Dice World. We are really excited about improving the accessibility of the game. Our goal is to make the playing field between sighted and non sighted players completely level. There will be an update coming out in the next week that has some pretty good voice over upgrades for Farkle. We really hope you like it. Also, we are currently working on improving Pig and Yatzy. I just started playing this game, particularly the version of Farkle, and so far really like it. However, I'm wondering if there's a way to get rid of the ads? I found a button somewhere that said "Remove Ads", but it didn't seem to do anything when pressed.

Kelly. They charge $1.99 US as in app purchace to remove the adds.

Thanks for the message. I had a feeling an in-app purchase was involved, but couldn't get the button to work propperly. When I pressed it, another button would activate or something, so I'm assuming it was somehow obscured by an ad. The only way I got it to work was to press the Messages button, or at least the button next to the word Messages, then it worked after closing that screen. Regardless, I'm glad I paid for the upgrade.

This Version is about 90% accessible and the next version that is coming out will be 100% accessible.

 

I absolutely love this game. It is addictive and a lot of fun. So if you want a great dice game. This is a must have!

Voice Over improvements for Yatzy and Pig!

 

 

Hello all I got myself and my girlfriend accounts and we atempted to play each other in pig. I've been noticing however that after someone ends their turn, a few things may happen. The game will continue normally, display an add and then let us continue or: 1. Everything seems to disappear on the screen and VO can't find anything but the status bar. Once the app is closed and restarted, the next turn can be taken. 2. Most offen, the next turn appears but no buttons will click. VO states they are not dimmed. The practice mode works fine however. Will this game let players take turns instantly or must each player wait some time between turns? My GF just picked up an iPhone tuesday and she is looking for some free games. Hope we can fix these issues, has anyone else had them? We are both using the 4s. These issues also occur when playing anyone else online, at least on my phone. Otherwise, pretty awesome games, considering they are free. Thanks again to the developer for taking the time to make these games accessible. All we need now is a collection of uno/crazy eights etc.

I have experienced those problems as well, and I think i can help with one of them. When no buttons will click, there is an add in the way, usually a link. You can either remove the adds, or click the link that will take you to the app store and then go back to the app. I don't know why the status bar thing happens, maybe its an add too? Anyway, I hope that helps.

Hi! I've had DiceWorld for quite a while now, the free version at first, then the paid one as the ads were annoying me. For me, closing the free app between turns lessened the annoyance of the ads a bit, but it didn't take me long to decide to get the paid version of this app.. I play all four games in this app these days: Balut was unfamiliar to me, but it's based on Yahtzee, with less categories but fore places to fill in for each one. As for the accessibility of this app, it's definitely improved for all the games except Balut, but I can understand why that's harder to work on as the layout is more complicated than ordinary Yahtzee. DiceWorld is definitely one of my favourite IOS gaming apps these days, that's for sure!

The information about accessibility given in the description above should absolutely be updated, since the app has gone through some vast changes accessibilitywise since it was originally posted. Just saying... ;)

I love Dice World and all of the games, but I am just having a hard time figuring out the layout of the Yahtzee game screen. If anyone could help explain the Yahtzee screen layout I would appreciate it.

I'm actually finding that the lay-out of this app leaves a lot to be desired. Wouldn't it make more sense to have all the dice in a row next to each other instead of scattered around the screen? It would be nice to be able to just flick left and right to monipulate the dice.

Hello Chris and Scott, I do have a podcast on this game that goes in to details how the layout works if you like to listen. It can be found here on AppleVis at: http://applevis.com/podcast/episodes/dice-world-fun-and-addictive-dice-game-family-and-friends Think of the Yahtzee page in three columns. The left side is your side. Your opponent is on the right side. You will need to use your fingers to do this. Flicking around won't make any sense. So as you go along the center of the page and down. You will hear things like 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's and such. Drag your finger to the left of this towards the left side. This is your score. If it has a -. It means it hasn't been taken yet. Once you double tap on a item. It will place a score on it. So if I have 4 2's. Double tap on the 2's. Now it should say 8 on the left side of the 2's column. Now to the right of this is your Opponents score. If they have anything it will also display a score if one is there. If not it will also have a - next to it. One thing to note is that once you reach the 6's in that center column. Use a triple finger slide up to see more items to select to use for scoring. Again, do a three finger swipe down to see the top half of the scoring. Along near the bottom are the five dices. They are side by side. So use your fingers to glide from the left to the right. You will see all of the dices place nicely there. Again, flicking to the left or right won't work very well. This is a limitation in the IOS 6 of how things can be aligned. Sadly, I don't recommend this using a braille display to play. Technically, it would be very difficult to have this game made ideally for that. So get that finger out and explore the screen. The podcast should hopefully explain a lot about the layout. HTH

Another suggestion that I've found somewhat useful, both with yatzy and balut, is to enable vertical navigation in the rotor inside the VoiceOver settings. Then you could quickly change the rotor setting to be vertical navigation, and then flick up or down in columns! Hth

Dice world is very easy to play on tuch screen however, if you would rather use a Bluetooth keyboard, I find it works especially well.

This sounds great about the new version, will definitely be grabbing it. By the way, if anyone wants to play any games in DW with me, look for kjsapergia.

Bonus Rolls!

Hi. I updated to 2.6 yesterday and it's a lot more responsive! I did notice an interesting bug with regards to the chat window, especially if you use a Bluetooth keyboard. Here are the steps to reproduce it. Go into the chat window and find the text field to send someone a message. In 2.6, you'll find that, if you're using a Bluetooth keyboard that you're unable to type anything into the text field. Your focus is there, but nothing you type in there will be recognized. The only fix I found for this is to turn off the keyboard and turn it back on. This seems to make things right again and makes VoiceOver behave like it should. If anyone else notices this i'd like to know. It's not a show stopper but it does slow things down a little bit. Otherwise, the game is a lot more responsive that's for sure!

Hi, I am having the same problem of not being able to type in the text fields in chat or also in the feedback. I had to dictate my responses. I don't use a Bluetooth keyboard, I was just trying to type on my Iphone 5.

I noticed that as well and was wondering if it was just me. I have 2 Bluetooth keyboards and I'm using the apple keyboard for dice world. I find if I hit the keyboard button on the top right to make the keyboard visable again, things work normally.

I tried it on my Ipod and Iphone without the keyboard and found the same issue, I let the developer know about it as he's great at checking out any bugs.

I've noticed lately that when I click on the settings button, leader boards, help, etc. instead of taking me to those pages, it takes me to the app store. Like maybe it's clicking an add instead. Anyone else having this problem? I was also wondering if anyone knows how it determines when you get a bonus roll. Is it just random? And I'm assuming it just costs 1 gold? In the latest version of the Dice World. They have introduce the Bonus Game or the Standard game. So if you have selected it to be a Bonus game then you can use Bonus points to unFarkle, unPig, and such during a game. So for example, say you have a Pig game that is in the Bonus Game mode. At any time you get the Pig. You can spend 1 gold to unPig your die. This now let you keep on rolling until you want to stop. So say if I roll up to 12 points. My next roll I get a Pig. I can now spend 1 gold to unPig that die. Hit the Roll button again. It will then keep adding on top of that 12 points until you want to hold. The Bonus game is selected when you create a game. So when you create a game. Choose how you want to select your opponent. You will see the Farkle, Yahtzee, Ballut, Pig and then under neath this is the Bonus game is selected. If you deselect this. It will then be the Standard game where you do not get the opportunity to unFarkle, unPig and such. If someone has invited you. It will also mention in that Alert box if this game is a Bonus game. If you do not hear the word Bonus game then it is a Standard game. To tell if a game is a Bonus game or not. At the Main Menu it will display Bonus Game next to the game and the person name. You can also hear it by entering the game itself. At the top left hand corner. Flick to the left until you hear for example Pig. If it says Pig Bonus Game then you know it is a Bonus Game. If it just says Pig. This is a standard game. You can only use the 1 gold to unPig, unFarkle and such once per round. I'm not certain if there is a limit for the game but at one time it was set for 3. I'm not certain that is the case now. Lastly, there will be a release very soon that will address some of the bugs mentioned above. So hopefully this will help out those that are having some issues. Hope this helps.

I keep seeing notices that Voiceover has been improved in this app. I was just wondering if anyone knows what improvements were actually made? Mostly I play Farkle or Pig, and really haven't noticed anything new. Also, in the Dice World store, I see you can purchase four different types of custom dice. Do these allow you to get higher numbers while playing, or are they just for show, given the descriptions?

Hey Kelly the improvements in VO for this go arround are for Yatcey. They've added mor tournaments also.

I have not tre custom dice but i am pretty sure they are just for show. I think the improbemne message and oen quicker ere that VoiceOver has gottnts adoesn't cut another one off. By the way, i am so glad they made it a native iPad app!!!!!!!!!!
