Hi
Wondering if anybody can help me with this problem.
I have an iPhone 13 mini and having trouble getting Seeing AI to work in the document, product, scene and handwriting channels.
When I try to use these channels Seeing AI loads for about a second before showing me a message that says “Sorry something went wrong. Please try again in a few moments.”
This happens every time.
This has been happening since I got the phone in January. To try and resolve the issue I have turned my phone off and on, deleting and reinstalling the app, updating to the latest iOS releases and even did a complete reset of the iPhone to no avail.
This is an issue on a cellular 4G connection or my home Wi-Fi.
Apps like Invision AI and Voice Dream Scanner work perfectly fine on my iPhone 13 mini.
Seeing AI works perfectly on my old and incredibly battered iPhone XS
I’m located in Australia.
If I had to speculate, it seems like my phone is not able to connect to the server when using these channels given how quickly it seems to give up and throw up the error message but I can’t say for certain
Has anybody else had this issue or better yet, does anybody have a resolution.
Any assistance would be very much appreciated!
Looking forward to your responses.

VPN
You might have a VPN running and you may not notice, some VPNs block access to seeing AI, go to settings, general, VPN and device management, make sure there are no VPN configurations installed, when you click on VPN, it should say not connected, if it does say connected, try deleting VPN configurations to see if it will resolve it
No VPN Installed
Thanks for the response Edward. I followed your instructions and found no VPN installed. Thanks for the suggestion though!
Problem Solved!
Good news!
I tweeted Saqib Shaikh, the founder of Seeing AI and he was kind enough to write back with a solution.
Here is what he suggested and what I did to resolve the problem.
1. Quit Seeing AI from the app switcher
2. Open the Settings App
3. Select Seeing AI
4. See if background app refresh is turned off. If it is, turn it on.
5. Open Seeing AI to see if the issue is resolved. If not, delete and reinstall Seeing AI from the App Store and Seeing AI should be working properly.
I figured I'd update this post for anybody else who might run into this problem in the future.
A big thank you to Saqib for taking the time out of his day to help me regain the full functionality of this awesome app
Was Reinstall Required?
Great - glad this worked for you! Did it work for others too?
As we write up instructions for the future, could you confirm one thing for us - was it actually necessary to reinstall the app? This shouldn't be required - but there may be some other step like waiting for a while or restarting the phone, to get Background App Refresh working again.
If anyone else is still facing this issue, and would be willing to do a couple of these investigations for us, please do get in touch.
