iOS and iPadOS

Hi everyone. Hope you're doing well and staying safe. I recently got a brand-new iPad mini I'm in electronic musician so I have a good grasp of audio fundamentals. Upon discovering my new iPad mini I came across an option a VoiceOver called audio route. I'm guessing it's to route the VoiceOver audio to different destinations but I don't know how it works please can somebody explain to me how it works. Thank you very much everyone and happy Christmas.

Hi, If you mean the option…

Hi,
If you mean the option within the rotor settings, this is an option for setting the routing of the VoiceOver sound (e.g. to a connected Bluetooth speaker). For example, when you do a presentation on your iPad and you want to show an audio / video clip to the audience but the people should not be able to hear the speech output, you can then make sure that only the regular audio output is routed through the Bluetooth speaker and VoiceOver stays on your iPad. On the other hand, let's say you want to demonstrate some people the functionality of VoiceOver and want to use a Bluetooth speaker to do so. Then, you can route the VoiceOver sound through the Bluetooth speaker. If the Bluetooth Speaker uses AVRCP, the VoiceOver sound is routed to the device's speakers by default. To change that, select the "audio route" rotor option and flick up or down with one finger.

Hypothetical follow-up question about mixing desk

Thank you very much for your kind response. I have a follow-up question. if I connected my iPad to a mixing desk using audio route could I determine what channels of the mixing desk VoiceOver went through? Thanks very much.

What do you exactly mean?

Hi,
What do you exactly mean with the routing through the mixing channels? When you connect your iPad to the mixing desk, do you connect that via Bluetooth? If so, all regular audio output should automatically be routed through the appropriate channel on your mixing desk. Let's say I connect my device to a mixing desk via Bluetooth, then the mixing desk should provide controls for the bluetooth channel so I can set such things like volume, maybe EQ or any other stuff.
