Hi all. I'm still running iOS furteen something. I'm wondering if I should upgrade to the latest version of iOS? What do you like or dislike about the new version? What are your favorite new features? What bugs have been fixed and not fixed? Thanks for any advice.

Using 12 pro and is OK. The photos description are OK. Focus does not work well for some reason. Wait for 15.2 to do so. If you mute your phone, VO keeps reading notification.

iOS 15 Update Comments

I waited to upgrade until the version prior to 15.1 was released, and since then, I updated to 15.1. I haven't noticed a lot of standout bugs, except I couldn't get SharePlay to work. Also, they moved the address bar in Safari to the bottom of the screen, which I don't like.

I mostly like iOS 15

On the whole, I like iOS 15. the Live Text feature is amazing. However, if you have a phone that doesn't support the newer features, the update might not be as exciting. On the other hand, my recently retired 8 plus ran faster on iOS 15 than it's run in several years, so even without new features, the update is probably worthwhile. Just my opinion of course. Others may have different advice.

Wait a bit probably

iOS 15.1 is okay, not quite the wall of bugs that the initial release was, but it's still annoying here and there. I would wait for the .2 for more stuff to get ironed out. Live text is super cool

Definitely wait

From the posts I've seen on applevis, there are literally dozens upon dozens of bugs. I still have IOS 14.8, which is the most bug free version of IOS to date, so far as I am aware, and so far, I don't at all miss any of the features I don't yet have that IOS 15 says it will deliver, or sort of deliver, or sometimes be there and other times be useless because of bugs for the blind.
Still, if you like bells and whistles that might or might not work, go for it. Me? I am happy to wait for a few months until Apple finally gets its IOS 15 for the blind bugs worked out.

I don't know how, but I honestly forgot about the changes to Safari until you mentioned them. Having the address bar at the bottom makes no sense to me. I wish there was a way to change the layout back to something sensible. I've got Microsoft Edge on my phone. Maybe it's time to change my default browser.

I updated my iPad, but am hesitant to update my iPhone because I have an iPhone 8 and don't need the benefits iOS 15 would provide. I hope you are able to use this thread to make the best decision for yourself! Good luck!

iOS 15 update experiences

I've been beta testing iOS 15 since developer beta 1 dropped shortly after WWDC. it, on the whole is great. no problems I see using it. the address bar you can change it back to being at the top in Safari settings. the sinking of do not disturb state across devices is great. the explore image feature is great. it depends on what phone you have though. it runs fast, and as my phone is an SE second generation, do not notice any speed increases from iOS 14. the only problem is that their is a bug with Facebook writing and posting comments, but that's a Facebook issue I believe. do it and you won't regret it! 15.2 is nice, but as it is still in beta, can't say much. but 15.1 is great.

I do not see why not to upgrade. If you’re waiting for iOS 15.2 then you are waiting for more emerging problems and solutions for previous bugs. It is not going to be perfect anyways. Just avoid upgrades if there are serious bugs that would stop your from using a feature or so.d/b

You can switch the address bar back to the top, I believe. I like the new Safari the way it is, so I'm not sure what you click on, but when I took a cursory look at it, it looked easy enough.

Do you mind elaborating on your problems with Facebook comments? I use that feature on Facebook pretty often so that would be a dealbreaker for me.
