setting up Face ID

Hi, I'm totally blind. I have the SE2020. I'm thinking about getting an iPhone 13 pro. I'm concerned about setting up face id. I'm not good with the whole clock thing that some have described to setup face id. Is setting it up difficult?

Hi. It's a very simple process. Move your face in a circle such as up, left, straight ahead, down, and right. As you do each movement, it will vibrate. It tells you if your phone isn't seeing your face. I'll also say the home gesture is a bit tricky. And in all caps here BE CAREFUL! I've called 911 twice now, once with the power button accidentally held down in my purse, the other time I was trying to power off and did it half asleep. bless them for not sending cops. Let me know if you need any help, I can facetime and help.

A podcast on this.

Hello Dennis, Dave Mason did an excellent Applevis podcast on how to set up face ID. It's Applevis Podcast 363. I was able to set it up independently on my 12 Mini.

Really easy to set up Face ID

At the set up screen for face ID, you move your head around the circle, voiceover will announce how to move either left or right or up-and-down, you only need to do it once, after that is set up, you just hold your phone as normal where the true depth camera sees your face and you instantly unlocked.
