can you use Clubhouse with out a phone number?

Hi all!

I have a question about Clubhouse.

I've heard a lot about this app, and some of the ways blind people are using it, along with blindness organizations. I've also really enjoyed attending webinars meetings on Zoom and Microsoft Teams, which is why this app peaked my interest.

I do have one question though.

I do not have a cell phone. So, I don't have a phone number. My question is, can you still use it with out a phone number? I have an email address, which I can use.

I'm really interested in looking at this app. So, any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Another thing I have, is a phone number from one of those apps that you can get one. I use Talkatone. But, I know when I tried using it, it didn't work.

So, if i do need to have a phone number, which apps would you recommend besides Google Voice?

you cannot join clubhouse without any phone number to my knolage. the invitation process relies on one to text message. you might be able to join with a link instead, but I'm not sure how to do that since I joined with my cell phone number. keep the comments coming and someone can chime in with the way you join with a link if that's possible.

I hope that it's possible to join with a link also. But, if not, I know the app's still in beta, so maybe it will be possible to join via email or with a link at some point.

But, if anyone else has any other ideas, please write them here.
