Hello Everyone,
My name is Emily Romero and I am a Ph.D. student from Colorado studying educational psychology. I have been totally blind since birth and have used assistive tech with speech outputs ever since I can remember. I am looking for reference management software to help keep my research organized and make writing literature reviews easier and more efficient. Does anyone know of accessible reference management software usable by researchers who are blind? Thank you so much for your help!
Best,
Emily

My knowledge about the…
My knowledge about the subject is not the best, however I have been unable to find any of those accessible. I do it manually.
That's the Same Experience I'm Having
That's the same experience I have been having. I tend to also do mine manually in Pages or at this website, which I find pretty accessible:
https://bibliographymakers.com
Bibliography Makers works with APA style.
Ilaro Research
This is a nice software that mightsuityourneeds.
Same here, sadly
I wasn't able to use any of the nice tools that are available. I just use the referencing in Word and my tutors accept the limitations on the styles I can use.
Thank you so Much!
I will definitely be giving this a try. Is it available on the App Store?
How does Referencing work in Word?
How does referencing work in Word? Do you mean typing in your bib entries manually?
It is available
Search for Ilaro and you will find it in the appstore.
Thank You!
I typed it in and there it was; thank you so much!
Cite in body of text and generate Bib
I create my citations in Reference and then insert them into the body of my text and then have it automatically generate the bibliography. It doesn't do Cite Them Right, but they let me off that.
I didn't Know it could Generate the Bib
Wow! I didn't know it could generate the bib! How does it site them?
It's like this
You create the citation in a master list and add it to the document you are working on. Yu just then insert it at the point you are referencing and at the end, it puts all the references in an alphabetical list.
My tutors are happy wiht it, but it's really just for referencing in documents not managing research.
I tried all the fancy online/offline systems and they were just to much messing about.
Of course, I use Word on Windows with JAWS - so all this is useless I'm afraid!with it, but it's
