Iphones Voiceover speech now routing to airplay devices

Hi,

When sending audio from my iPhone 12 pro to airplay devices such as my Linn Majik amp or Samsung TV, Voiceover speech also is heard on these devices. This didn't happen I"m sure when I used IOS13 with my old iPhone 10X Max.
I've checked that audio ducking is on as I read this could cause issues such as this.

Is this a bug with IOS14 or have I missed another setting somewhere?

Any help or advice greatfully received.

Kind regards

Graham

Be sure to add audio destination to your rotor. That should fix it.

Audio Destination

As stated above, using the Audio Destination rotor allows you to select between default and external audio routing, which affects where VoiceOver output is heard while using AirPlay.

Normally, when AirPlay is active, VoiceOver defaults to staying on device, and you only need to use the rotor if you want VoiceOver output to be sent to the external device. However, I have occasionally run into an issue where, for some reason, VoiceOver behavior starts behaving the opposite way, going to the external device by default and having to manually switch back. When I've had that happen, the problem would persist until I restarted my iPhone, after which VoiceOver behavior returned to normal. So, if you're continuing to have this problem each time you use AirPlay, try restarting your device.

By the way, I've run into this issue several times under iOS 13 and on rarer occasions with earlier versions of iOS. I haven't had it happen yet under iOS 14, but I haven't been using AirPlay as much lately.

I have noticed both sets of behaviors on two different speakers. It depends on what the Bluetooth speaker does, as well as iOS.Even more interesting, turning voiceover off and back on on the third speaker audio went to the external speaker but when it first came up it was odd voiceover was on the phone

I know that for a while people were having a problem with the audio destination setting, and I was one of them. Is it now working again?
