questions about Mbraille app

Braille on Apple Products

Hey all! I have a question or 2 about the MBRAILLE app.

1. I seen the 2 things you can purchase the keyboard and the other package I cannot remember what it's called. If I purchase the 2nd package will I get every thing including the keyboard? Or will I have to buy that separately?

2. Can I reposition the keys on the piano layout? If so, how can I do that?
3. If someone could please do a demo of this app I'd really appreciate it!
What CI'd like to do is use this app in conjunction with BSI.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide! :)

I don't recall what the full package contains, but I do have the third party keyboard purchased. I'm currently on an iPhone XR running IOS 14, but I've had the following problem for some time now. When using MBraille as a keyboard it does not work, no matter what orientation you put it in or how you set it. It works great in stand-alone mode, but that's hardly practical. You might be better using braille screen input though again, at least for me it's currently very sluggish and does not always space whenever I do the space gesture. Maybe you'll have better luck with both. ALso, I believe you can turn on smart keys which will orient the display according to the placement of your fingers.

I think, the full package does not include the third-party keyboard. But I'm not completely sure about that. Anyway, be careful with the third party keyboard when you are a user of iOS 14. There is a bug. The third-party keyboard is for many users useless under iOS 14. The makers of MBraille try to resolve the issue. Using an older version of IOS, The third-party keyboard will be fine.

You have three layouts to choose from: Smart, Way and piano. Using the smart layout, you can adjust the position of the six Braille keys according to the placement of your fingers. The way layout and the piano layout do not allow the special positioning. It is fixed.
I hope that helps.

I see what you guys mean. I am trying to use it as a keyboard. But whenever I do the swipe gesture to advance to the next keyboard, it doesn’t want to work. And then when I get the next keyboard button it gives me umbrellas in another keyboard. I can’t tap and hold the train switch keyboards. Now I have turned it off at least until either Apple or this apps developer fixes this. But I would like to use the other features of it.
And sometimes when I do the swipe gesture, there’s literally nothing on my screen. At least that’s what I think is happening. voiceover isn’t saying anything. There’s nothing on my screen at least that’s what I think. Because I don’t get any noises either. So it’s like it’s frozen or something.

Hi Dawn, You may purchase the MBraille keyboard only or the full package that includes: the keyboard and abilities to use MBraille in different circumstances e.g. using dot commands to perform certain tasks, write and then save files with what you've written, etc. You'll find the detailed manual on Note recently there were problems with MBraille due to iOS 14 incompatibilities but hope this should be resolved soon. The developer is aware of the situation. You may also subscribe to MBraille discussion list and post queries there. Hope this helps. Greetings, rafal
