What is happening with WhatsApp on IOS? When creating a post, Voiceover does not speak anything and I am having to type, in the hope I am not making any mistakes. When I use the Delete key, nothing is spoken either. I realise that WhatsApp is a third party application, but has anyone reported the issues already and, if so, who did you report to? This is driving me crazy, as I have to respond to many WhatsApp posts and I have to work around, by typing my messages in an app like Notes and then Copy-Paste into WhatsApp.

Wish I could help you. I don't have this issue. Then again, I don't update WhatsApp... like, ever. If it works, I stick with it. And precisely for this reason.
...Actually, I think someone else removed and reinstalled it and that fixed their issue.

I also suggest deleting the app, reboot your device, and then reinstall the app. A lot of times this has fixed bugs for me with other apps.

I have no issues, and I have not reinstalled or removed it since July of last year. I update every single time by the way.

Hello,
I do not have any issues with whats app on my new iPhone SE (2nd generation) or when I use whats app web on my pc. My iPhone SE is running the latest version of iOS 13 and my computer is running the latest version of Windows 10. Have you tried contacting the developer to see if they can replicate your problem?

I'm typing on an external keyboard now, so I almost never need to correct stuff I write, but when i need it's very annoying not to be able to know exactly what you deleted.

hi
no issues with my whats app, I update every single time.
may be you should send a feedback to the developers...

Thanks to all who came back to me on this. I took the advice, to delete the app and reinstall it. This action worked and typing, in WhatsApp, is now back to normal. Many thanks.

Very glad to hear that the app is working well for you. I haven't ever had any problems with the app and I'm glad that you can also use it again. Happy chatting.

Hi
Having the latest version of Whatsapp installed on my iPhone 8+ and this issue only occurs in the telephone nr edit field when I want to delete chats. When I typed in the first 2 digits of my mobile nr, VoiceOver pronounces the digits correctly, but after that the following happens: Typing a 4 causes VoiceOver suddenly to pronounces a 8 and so on. After finishing typing in the full nr, swipe left and right, I discovered that VoiceOver then read the full nr correctly. Interestingly this only happens in this particular edit field. Entering numbers in a chat or group chat's edit field causes no problems. Does anyone here experiences the same issue?

That bug was fixed about 5 or so months ago. I type on external keybords all the time now with what's app and I can hear what's ben deleted.

I had the same issue and I reported it but they said it’s something to do with my inbuilt keyboard. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. It did the trick but the issue cropped up after a short while. Then I disabled Touch ID for WhatsApp, and guess what? No issue whatsoever afterwards. ☺️ Hope this helps. Cheers!

I'll see if disabling Touch ID will solve this issue.

I too had this issue, and tried uninstalling then reinstalling. The issue still persisted. After reinstalling though, it worked until I re-enabled face ID on my iPhone 11 Pro. After disabling it again, it worked like a charm!

I have face id on and don't have the issue, yet. Knock on plastic. Everythign works as expected.
