Description of App:
This AV Controller app will turn your iPhone/iPod touch/iPad into a Wi-Fi enabled remote control for your Yamaha network products(*). This App provides you the flexibility to control the available inputs, volume, mute and power commands. It lets users change a song from Internet Radio, USB and command FM/AM tuners or any other internally available source. Music Play feature allows you to stream music tracks directly from your iPhone/iPod touch/iPad to Yamaha network products to so you can enjoy high quality music through your AV system.
Screen sizes of Tablet devices are also supported. It’s great to have all this control at your fingertips - and best of all it’s FREE! This really ticks me off! Everything reads, the app is totally Voiceover accessible, with the exception that all of the icons are totally dimmed out. Therefore, there is no way for me to double tap, nor split tap to activate any of them. I can easily enough get to the different modes like selecting my inputs, or changing the DSP presets, but that's really about it. Past that point, all is dimmed. I called Yamaha, but they were not very willing to work with me, and when I tried explaining to them about Voiceover, they seemed to not be the most interested in learning. The odd thing though is, I'm not 100 percent sure if this is totally an accessibility issue, as my mom tried it for me with Voiceover turned off, and she seems to also be having the same issue. We thought maybe it was a compatibility issue, so tried with her IPhone 4S still running IOS 7, but that didn't work wither. I can get it to work on my Android devices with Talkback, so therefore, I know it's not an issue of my receiver having issues connecting up with the app. Plus, not only that, but, on IOS, I can turn the volume up and down just fine, and can mute, and even power on/off the receiver. So it's kind of working, but not really.
If any of you have more luck with Yamaha Support, then you be my guest! I'm tried countless times, and haven't gotten very far.
