Description of App:

Howdy partner, and welcome to the Silver Dollar Saloon!

Draconis Entertainment revisits the popular saloon of the old west featured in many of its audio games for the blind and visually impaired with a new mini title for Mac OS X!

Primarily intended for the blind and visually impaired, SilverDollar offers three mini games that serve as both a great introduction to audio games for new players, and addictive fun for experienced ones.

SilverDollar has no visual element. Use your fingers, ears, and wits to engage in some western fun.

So put on your 10 gallon hat, partner, and get into a little trouble at the old west's premier watering hole for outlaws and gunslingers alike.

  • Start a brawl with the Silver Dollar's resident tough guy.
  • Prove yourself a gunslinger by testing your shooting skills, blasting flying crockery out of the air.
  • Spend a little time at the one-armed bandit.
  • Features many favorite characters from previous Draconis titles, including Old Man Stanley.
  • Audio hints to help newcomers navigate the game menus with their ears.
  •  In app instructions for all the mini games.

Game is self voicing, does not require VoiceOver, turn VoiceOver off with Command+F5.

The app is fully accessible without the use of VoiceOver

Other Comments:

At $1.99 certainly worth it to play 3 mini games. Remember to check out ChangeReaction by the same developer.

Draconis Games

I really wish that they would get some of their other games switched over, and maybe they will. Alien Outback especially would be nice. I would also like to see some GMA Games on the Mac, or even iPhone. Shades of Doom and LoneWolf come to mind.

A question for david.

Hi david. Thanks for posting this, as well as the wonderful job you do on your podcasts. I was wondering how tospend my Xmas money soemone credited my account with on itunes, now i know. My only question is when you demoed, changed Reaction, you had the voice at a normal, speed not slower as I knwo you have to put it so those who have toruble can understand the podcast. How di dyou do it? Alex still sounds like he's had one to many drinks the night before, and I would like set to a normal rate. thanks for answering, going to buy and play the game, now.

adjusting the speech rate for SilverDollar and ChangeReaction

Hi, Both SilverDollar and ChangeReaction use the default system voice (not the VoiceOver speech). So if you want to adjust the speed do the following (which will effect self-voicing games): 1. Go to System Preferences. 2. In System Preferences, go to the Dictation and Speech control (Mountain Lion). 3. In Dictation and Speech, choose the Text to Speech tab. 4. In Text to Speech, adjust the rate of speech slider, and use the Play control to play a test sample of the speech rate. 5. When your finished adjusting, close System Preferences and play the game. David

I love this game so much, is there a way to get more Silver dollars?
