This is my review of the tribit storm blast box bluetooth speaker. This bluetooth speaker goes for $199.00 but I was able to get it on amazon as a prime lightening deal for $155.00.
This is a retro boombox design that I remember as a child. It is very very sturdy. This speaker has the following features: 90W Loud Stereo Sound with XBass, IPX7 Waterproof, LED Light, PowerBank, Bluetooth5.3&TWS, Custom equalizer, High Fidelity Sound, and 30 Hours of Playtime.
In the box you get the boombox speaker itself along with a users guide and a power cord. Note that you can get an accessible version of the users guide at atguys.com. Amazon packed this very well. They had the main box, then they had a box inside that, and a box inside that that contained the speaker. It kind of reminded me of parents that put their kids presents inside the box, then you had a box inside that one and so on.
The speaker itself is a rectangular shaped speaker just like a retro boombox with a cary handle on top. On each end of the speaker are the speaker radiators each having the tribit logo on them. On the front of the speaker is the speaker grill where the sound comes out. The buttons although tactle are hard to feel so if you have issues with sensativity you may have trouble feeling them. There are 7 buttons on top. From left to right they are power, bluetooth pairing, volume down, play/pause, volume up, a light that dances to the beet of whatever music you are playing, and the last button is XBass. The play/pause button when pressed twice in succession also skips to the next song. Pressing this button 3 times in succession skips back a song.
On the back of the speaker is a long rubber waterproof door. When this door is opened this will expose the ports. From left to right you have the port to plug in the power cord, A USB C port which also acts as a power bank, and a regular audio jack for an audio cable. Note the power cord is a regular power cord and is not USB.
I did install the tribit app although I don't think you really need it although you can update the firmware when the app is installed. I haven't explored the app much but it appears the app is accessible with some weird labeled buttons. I was also able to get the battery percentage through the app as well as update the firmware successfully.
As far as voiceover goes voiceover audio does not come through the speaker but the phone instead. There is one weird issue with this. When audio is playing through the speaker voiceover will all the sudden get very loud, however when the audio is paused and the speaker is still on this does not happen. It's strange and if anyone has any fixes for this behavior please put them in the comments.
This speaker does not have audio prompts but there are sound prompts for power on and off as well as pairing.
When comparing this speaker with bose or sonos in my oppinion its up there right along with them but everyone will have a different oppinion on that.
Over all I am very satisfied with this speaker and it was a good purchase and I will enjoy it!
