What's New in iOS 14.5: New Siri Voices

By AppleVis, 26 April, 2021

Member of the AppleVis Editorial Team

In this podcast, Thomas Domville demonstrates how in iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 Siri gains two new American English voice options, with the list of available voice options now numbered, rather than being described as male or female. Additionally, when setting up a new device, you will be prompted to select your preferred Siri voice rather than there being a default. The new Siri voices are also available to use with VoiceOver.

Note that these new Siri voices are also available on the Mac with the release of macOS Big Sur 11.3.

New Siri Voices

Firstly, Thank you for the demo of the new Siri voices while using them as Voiceover voices and also as Siri voices. I prefer Voice 2 as my Voiceover voice and Voice 4 as Siri. This was the feature I was most excited about before the launch of IOS 14.5.
