Dear AppleVis Friends,
September is a big month at AppleVis. Since 2012, September has been the month when Apple has traditionally announced new iPhone models, and this year is expected to be no exception; with Apple set to hold an ‘Awe Dropping’ media event on September 9. AppleVis will have full coverage of the event, including a recap from AppleVis alum Alex Hall and a roundtable podcast to go in depth on the announcements.
Apple is also expected on September 9 to share the release dates for the next major software versions for all of its platforms, version 26. The AppleVis Team has been hard at work preparing a wealth of content for these releases, including bug lists and ‘What’s New’ podcasts and blogs (and perhaps a surprise or two as well). Look for our ‘26’ resources to be available in the days leading up to the public release of the software (which is likely to be sometime during the third week of September). We will also send out a special edition of the AppleVis newsletter, providing you easy access to all of our release content in one place. We can’t wait to share these resources with you.
In addition to Apple’s media event and announcements, September 9 also marks the one-year anniversary of AppleVis’ reopening under Be My Eyes stewardship. As I look back on the past year, I am humbled by and tremendously grateful for the outpouring of support AppleVis has received—both from the team at Be My Eyes and from our community. Our partnership with Be My Eyes has allowed us to take AppleVis to new heights that were previously impossible, and this past year is only the beginning. Looking ahead, there is much to be excited about; from our September software release content in the coming days, to the annual Golden Apple Awards and Apple Vision Accessibility Report Card, to several major usability and functionality updates soon to be introduced to the AppleVis website—and I hope you will be part of it.
Sincerely,
Michael Hansen
