for work I use Windows 11 and Jaws version 2023. It works just fine for what I need to do. However, I recently had to get a new computer from my company. They installed what they said was the latest update for version 2023. A couple of weeks later, it started asking me if I wanted to use the voice module every morning. All I have to do is say yes, and everything seems to work fine. But I am wondering if there is some kind of setting that needs to be changed so that they donβt ask that question every morning.

From Google...
To disable the voice assistant, also known as "Sharky", do the following:
1. Press insert plus Jay to open your JAWS GUI.
2. Press Alt plus U to access utilities.
3. Look for the voice assistant settings here, and either disable it entirely, or disable the listen for the wake word option.
Note: if you choose the second option, you can still use the voice assistant by pressing alt plus insert plus space.
I don't use JAWS, as I am a NVDA user myself, but this is what I got from Google, so I hope it helps. Good luck. π
thanks Brian.
my voice assistant was not checked, so my problem must be something else. I think I will just put up with it, because it really doesnβt affect the performance. Thanks for your help.
Hmmm.. weird
Sorry I cannot be of more help. I suppose, if you're feeling brave, go through your JAWS settings, and look for anything that gives microphone access, and just disable all of that. That's the only other thing I could think of for your situation. π€·
