ios upgrade question

Hi its Carlos,
I just updated my new Iphone 6s to ios 9.1.
and my question is when I went to settings general and software update,
it started downloading the ios 9.1 version automaticly.
I thought I had to press a down load button if I wanted to download the new version,
but that was not the case.
I did have to press an install button and agree to the terms before installing.
I asked the apple accessibility folks about it and I was told it should not have downloaded automaticly.
So they were confused and sent it up.
Is this behavior correct do you have to press the download button to do the update.
I am using voiceover maybe that has something to do with it.
Thanks for any feedback
Carlos

Everyone has to do this...

Everyone has to press an install button and agree to the terms before you install an update over the air. This is a standard thing. The update does begin downloading automaticly so that it's easier, but most times, this happens over a few days time. in other words, the update will download to your device eventually but you can choose when to install it. In fact, Apple has added a couple extra options. You can install as soon as the update downloads, you can have it install the update overnight when you're not using your phone or you can have it remind you later. So it's kind of interesting that yours began the download without first having to hit the install button.

Carlos, Under apps and ITunes in settings there is a heading called automatic downloads. This is what your iPhone will download to your phone if it is enabled. One of the options you have there is updates. If this is turned on,, which it is by default, your phone will automatically download updates in the background on Wi-Fi. It will then prompt you to install them periodically or when you go to check for updates. If you do not want it to do this, you can turn off the setting under automatic downloads so that it does not download updates automatically without your permission.

Hi Pyro2790 I thought that updates button ment app updates,
not ios version updates.
I just turned that update button off but turned the apps on in automatic downloads.
Cause I want when I go to the app store for the phone to download app updates but not the ios software updates.
Thanks
Let me know if these are the right settings.
Carlos
