macOS and Mac Apps

Hello all,
Where do I download a copy of Mac OS Catalina so I can use it to create a bootable USB drive? I tried getting it from the app store but when I press the get button it opens up system preferences. It does not want to just download it.

hello,

it is a change in macOS Catalina from previous versions that all downloads of macOS Catalina are performed in software update. when pressing the'Get' button, software update launches and prompts to download it.

Hello,
I tried just doing that. All it does is ask me to install it. It never just lets me download it. I am having a horrible time here just trying to create a bootable USB drive.

hello

I was a beta tester for Catalina before it's release, and software update always worked for me. I would call Apple Accessibility. they can't do technical support by email at accessibility@apple.com their number is +1 (877) 204-3930. then after that, become a beta tester for new public beta updates.

Thing We don't want to get it via software update. W want to get it direct via the mac app store wherein it downloads mac os 10.15 to the apps folder and you use disk maker x to create the boot drive.

Hi there,

The easiest thing to do is to use the third party tools available on the internet. But since it is developed by a third party developer, use it at your own risk. The tool is use to install macOS on an unsupported Mac, but you can use the tool to download the macOS installer. follow this link.

Hope that helps.
