I gut a new Mac Mini this week, from which I am writing this. I've already learned lots of useful things just by poking around Applevis. Now I'm looking for a good book that explains both how to use OS X and how it works. I've figured out on my own how to do the basics. Now I want something that will really help me get to know the OS. I've been in computers since the days of DOS and used Windows up until now. I'm not content just to use it. I want at least some idea of how it works. Especially with computers, inevitably something goes wrong, and it's a lot easier to fix if you know how it works. I'm already figuring out that some of the shortcuts that seem to be missing from the point of view of a Windows user could be replicated with just a basic knowledge of scripting. Can anyone recommend a good book to read with this in mind?
