Hello all-
So I have this new Mac and the problem is old. I just don't remember how to fix it so was hoping somebody here could help me please.
VoiceOver is speaking content in one voice and attributes in another like whether a document is a text document. how do I get it to read everything in one voice?
Thanks-
Mara.

Which voices?

Hello Mara,
when you say voices, do you mean that a totally different voice is used or that the attributes of that single voice are changed? In the first case it would be helpful to know which languages and voices are installed (as standard).

the System Voice won't change

Hello Rolland and others-
I have the standard voices installed. Also downloaded Lee - the Aus English voice.
When I attempt to change the system voice to lee, it does not change over. I go to System prefs, accessibility and select spoken content then select lee as the system voice. When I quit system prefs, Alex is still the system voice.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks-
Mara.

More or less the same issue!

By Shannon

Hello, everyone, I also have this issue where VoiceOver speaks with multiple versions of the same voice. Especially when I press command + tab. I am using the UK female voice and sometimes the voice becomes amplified. any tips would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Shannon

hello- here's what you need to do running an m1 Mac wit the latest Big Sur, 11.5. Choose system voice as lee and VoiceOver Voice as lee also. Then go in VO Utility and adjust all the settings under the speech tab I.E change all the voices to the same one.
more Detailed instructions to come. I was just so excited I had to let you all know now!
Nobody tells you this stuff.

I have the same problem, with a twist

I'm running an Intel-based Macbook Pro 2017 and using Siri Voice 2 for VoiceOver. However, I cannot set the Siri Voice as my system default for some reason.
