Using Tables in Pages

I have a quick question about creating tables in Pages. When I create a table, I can easily navigate among the cells using VoiceOver. However, when I interact with the text in a cell, VoiceOver says that the cell is empty. When I interact with the cell, VO says the contents. This poses a problem when I want to spell the contents of a cell. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Hi. When voice-over focus is on a cell try selecting characters in the rotor and down arrowing. This works for me, but not all the time. It seems to depend on how many words are in the text with in the cell. Hope that helps a bit.
