Hi,
I've been using voice over for a few years but there is something I still can't do, and I'm not sure whether it's the limitation of VO or me misunderstanding things. I can't navigate down columns in tables on webpages. With quick now on, I am able to move across a row, cell by cell, by pressing right or left arrows. But if I press up or down arrows, voice-over always says"No web spot set". It doesn't seem to matter what I most recently selected from the web rotor. e.g. I can use up and right cursor keys, up and left cursor keys or gestures on the trackpad to select navigation, but then when I press cursor down VO says "no web spot set". If I select a different item from the rotor and then cursor down, VO will still say "no web spot set" - it just seems to make no difference what I select from the rotor while I'm inside a table. Is this a bug on my misunderstanding about what to do? With quick nav off, if I cursor down I will normally hear the contents of one cell at a time but moving across the row, whereas what I often want to hear is moving down the column. The only time I've been able to do this has been when I've had an external keyboard connected to my MacBook, and using 2 and 8 on the numpad does exactly what I want. But I don't always have an external keyboard and I'd like to know where I'm going wrong. VO is set to navigate webpages by DOM -If this makes a difference, please can someone explain to me what I should be doing? Can I read down a column by changing my settings or using a different approach? I'd appreciate any help with this, as I feel that if is possible I ought to be able to do it by now, but because of the difficulties I've had with it if I need to deal with the tables seriously, I usually end up giving up and using my phone or Windows.
