Scrivener? StoryMill? Contour? What are the best apps to help a new novelist with National Novel Writing Month?

Hi everyone,
Wanted to take the plunge, am up for the challenge to see where it takes me.
Normally, I'm a plunger, but I've thought about planning this one. Has anybody here used Contour? How helpful is it for novelists as far as outlining? I've bought Scrivener ages ago, all I need to do is re-download it to my Mac. How do I use the Outliner in it? The Corkboard is where all of your files are, but the app description says there's an Outliner. How does that work?
If I can't figure out an app over the weekend, there's always plunging. :)
