Reading pdf documents on Mac, any better news?

Hi again,

What is the current recommendation for reading pdf documents on a Mac running El Capitan?

Is Preview still the best choice?

Have the reported accessibility issues in Skim been addressed?

It is surprising to me that pdf documents may be more accessible using an iPhone than a Mac.

Thanks.
