playing audio clips while recording a podcast

Hello all,
I'm starting a podcast soon and I am wanting to be able to play audio clips such as audio clips from the news. I am really wanting to be able to do this in real time if possible. I am using a eight channel interface along with ProTools for the Mac. I also have a Windows machine with sonar installed on it.
I am hoping that someone already knows of a way that I can accomplish this task. Are there any accessible apps for the IPhone that can trigger audio clips? If so, it would be nice to be able to just play them off my IPhone while plugged in to a channel on my interface. Thank you very much for your help.
