macOS and Mac Apps

It seens Office 2016 hs been released.
Did you try it and how the accessibility relates specially regarding its privious versions and also the competing Apple works package?
It would be nice to have two accessible platforms for productivity on Mac OS.

Office 2016

Word uses a combination of Mac and Windows text navigation keyboard shortcuts, but you get used to it, and it voices text well. The ribbon buttons are all labeled, but there are no keyboard shortcuts for jumping to individual ribbon tabs as in the Windows version; you can access them through VO navigation & interaction or through the Item Chooser. Unlike the Windows version, though, you have full access to Word's menus and keyboard shortcuts to things like the Paragraph format dialog box. All-in-all, you have full access to Word's command set.

The only real flaw is that you can't use the router to navigate with Quick Nav or Trackpad Commander or you'll just jump to the header or footer instead of sentence by sentence or header by header, etc. On the other hand, if you want to jump to the header or footer, well then this is a feature they worked hard to perfect!

I can't find a way to have Voiceover track column headers in Excel other than column and row coordinates. Numbers may be a better bet for everyday use.

Outlook works very well and has since last November's update.

I don't use PowerPoint much at work and haven't tested the Mac 2016 version.

Hopes this helps.

Strange thing in Word

By Krister Ekstrom

I'm having a bit of a strange issue in Word and i don't know if it's me who do something wrong or if it's the fact that i still run a Beta because i don't know how to subscribe to Office365, anyway here goes: When in a large document with many pages it seems that VO can't read it. At best i get the first character of a sentence spoken when moving line by line with only up- or down arrows, when i read with Voiceover however there are no problems reading the text but i can't edit it should i wish because i don't know where the cursor if any is.
Anyone had this problem?
