I currently have a macOS 13 point something public beta on my Mac default Drive. I will keep that, but I just want to update that one
However I want to create a separate installation for macOS 14 public preview when it comes out in July
Can somebody give me the steps to do it
I’m running a MacBook Air M1 With 16 GB of RAM and one 512 GB storage drive

Creating a secondary volume

To create a secondary volume to install the macOS 14 beta on:

  1. Open Disk Utility, located in the Utilities folder (or find it with Spotlight or Siri.)
  2. Select your startup disk, usually called Macintosh HD, in the table, and click the “Add APFS volume” button in the toolbar.
  3. Name the volume (it can be any name) and if you want to specify a minimum and maximum amount of storage space for it, click size options, define your parameters, and click OK. Otherwise, click Add to create the volume, which will share space with your startup disk.

Once the volume has been created, download another copy of macOS Ventura from Apple’s macOS download site, and follow the onscreen instructions to install it. At the point where the installer confirms that macOS will be installed on your startup disk, click show all disks, and select your newly created volume. Once the installation completes, your new copy of macOS will start as if the Mac was new from the factory; follow the onscreen instructions in the Setup Assistant.

Once the public beta becomes available, you can start up from your newly created volume and install it while leaving your installation of macOS Ventura intact.
