macOS and Mac Apps
Whats the difference between the two? Does mac air include garage band? It is the main feature i'm after. Which has a better voice over performance? I am a music composer and want to use garage band to record my guitar playing and other instruments, so i would love to know if garage band is fully accessable. Thank u guys. Please tell me if u prefer the mac book pro or the mac book air! Thanx again.

Differences.

The macbook air comes in 11.6 or 13.3 screen sizes and there are options to upgrade the internal components depending on which model you buy. The macbook pro comes in 13 or 15 inch sizes and again can be customized depending on which one you buy. As for GB and accessibility I am not entirely sure to be honest as I have never used it. I think it really depends on what else you want the mac for. For example if your not going to carry it about you might be better off looking at a mac mini, and if you are then do you want power or portability? Battery life is also a consideration, as is price.

Hi, MBP and MBA are both

Hi, MBP and MBA are both shipped with the same software - so no difference there. There are several posts on GB, it is fairly accessible even though the very latest version (which I skipped in terms of updating) has some bugs with VO. If you are serious about making music then I would suggest you get the device with the strongest CPU and the most RAM. The reason is that effects and filters in GB (and elsewhere) simply create a high processor load. You might even consider getting a desktop machine for that. I have a 2013 MBA with I7 processor and I was surprised to note some latency when using guitar effects.

Thanx for the feedback guys!

Thanx for the feedback guys! I'm not worried about battery life but portability is important. Thanks again, and if anyone has anymore comments please feel free to share.

Thank you from me too. I am getting some form of Mac for Christmas or for my birthday, and this information is very helpful. Regarding Garage Band, I have heard of it but the only experience I had with it was with some next-door neighbors a few years ago. They are all sighted so I can't speak to the accessibility of it with Voiceover. They had some sort of device hooked to the computer which they were using, I think it might've been a Wii remote but I'm not sure. Anyway, they invited me and another neighbor over to jam with them and sing along to some Beatles tunes. It was so much fun. I, too, am a musician in my own right, and hopefully one of the things I'll eventually be able to test out is Garage Band. I'll of course have a lot of learning to do prior to that though, as I have never even used a Mac in my life. As you all can probably guess by now, I'm very excited to get started on this new adventure in my life and I want to have that Mac sooner rather than later.
