Since updating to the latest Mac oS, I notice that it always requires me to enter my password no matter how many settings I mess with. I had this turned off, so maybe it was turned on bfor privacy and they don't let you change it now. That's fine, I can deal with that. But every time I enter my password, it automatically brings up the touch ID and password settings from system settings menu. Does anyone else experience this? I know it's a minor thing but I was just curious why this is.
Thanks in advance!

What do you mean exactly?
Do you mean the password that is required for changing settings? Or password at login?
File vault
When I updated to macOS 26, it turned file volt on automatically. Previously I had it turned off. I wonder if this is the issue youβre having. You can turn it off easily in privacy and security settings if you donβt want it on.
