How to save images in Message App?

How does one save images (photos etc.) that are sent to me and I open in the message app? The Apple help wasn't that helpful. I can navigate to the JPEG file in the message, but can't figure out how to save it from there using VoiceOver.

I'm running Sierra on a Mac Mini if that matters.

Thanks.

I believe to save images, interact with the file transfer group and route the mouse pointer to it by pressing VO Command f5. Then, hold down the control key and click to access the contextual menu and select, "Add to Photos library." This is what worked for me. Pressing VO Shift M on the image didn't seem to work for some reason.
