How to increase screen contrast in OS X?

macOS and Mac Apps
I have serious glaucoma. I use Apple desktop OSX 10.8 plus an iPhone 5. I need to make the fonts used in applications by Apple much darker (Contacts, and Calendar primarily). They supply no way to do that to my knowledge. Do you know of any or a person at Apple that I can contact? Most other Apps have ability to click bigger fonts.
