How to downgrade MacOS from Monterrey to Big Sur?

By Jim Homme, 14 June, 2022

Hi,
I didn't realize my early 2015 Macbook Air doesn't support Monterey. I need to downgrade, I think, to Big Sur. Can anyone please point me to the right procedure for doing this?

Thank you so much.

There are articles easily available by googling.

Downgrading

There are a cupple ways to do this. The first way is booting into recovery and using a Time Machine backup to downgrade. The second way is is using a bootable install of Big Sur to downgrade. Unfortunately Disk Maker X is no longer being developed, so you’ll have to use the terminal to create the bootable install.
