Filling out forms in ODT format.

Hello again, everyone.
It just so happens that today I have a few more questions. This time I’m wondering how to deal with files in ODT format. Recently, I received a form to fill out that was in ODT. I downloaded the LibreOffice app to open the file and try to fill it in. However, in my opinion, filling out anything in that app is nearly impossible. So, I decided to export the form from LibreOffice to DOCX format. I’m not sure if that’s a good long-term solution. Does the text shift or get messed up when I do that? It looked fine, but I can’t be certain.
How do you handle such forms? Do you have a reliable method you usually use?
