I have been wondering this myself. It seems as if there are way more podcast apps available on I O S then there are for the mac. The only thing I have concluded from looking around is that downcast is available on the mac for around 5 dollars. I am not sure how accessible or good it is. I am considering buying it, but haven't yet. I wish Overcast was available on the mac. Its probably my favorite I O S app.

I had no idea that overcast.fm existed. I checked it out and it works on a windows computer. I will have to see how it is with VoiceOver on my mac later today.

The Overcast iOS app works really well with VoiceOver too, and it synchronises over the cloud, so the iOS app doesn't have to do heavy lifting. I really should transition to it actually.

An alternative may be overcast's web version, overcast.fm.
