Fast Searching in Mountain Lion

Wow, I don't like this. In Lion, fast searching was implemented so that pressing down Right Command with a letter or number took one to the next line beginning with that letter or number. Now, it takes one to a line containing the letter or number. So, before, a RightCommand+I on the Google home page would reliably hit Images and I'm Feeling Lucky. Now, it also hits GMail, because there's an i in there; and Privacy, etc. Yuck-oh. I know I can use the item chooser or web rotor or find, but none of those methods feels as fluid and snappy to me as Fast Searching did. Do you guys think they thought this was a feature enhancement? Do you guys think it *is* a feature enhancement?
