Changing voices on the mac

Hello, I tried to change the voice from Alex to Samantha on my Mac. I obviously did it wrong, because Alex is still talking except when I type. Then both Alex and Samantha echo the characters. I made the changes in spoken content under system preferences. How can I fix the mess I made?

I'm not sure about spoken content, but to change the voice used by VoiceOver, press VO-Command-Shift-left or right arrow to access the voice menu, then press VO-Command-Shift down arrow to navigate the menu and select a voice. If the voice you want is not in the menu, you can select from a full list of available voices in VoiceOver Utility > Speech.
