Low Vision Accessibility on Apple Products

Hey,

I'm looking to improve accessibility on Macs for low-vision users. I've read through some older posts, and I've seen a lot of complaints about the existing screenreaders for Macs. I'm looking for low-vision Mac users to talk to about the current issues and some solutions I've been thinking about.

If you're willing to talk, I'd really appreciate if you could contact me through my profile's contact form (I think that's a thing here? I'm new to this forum) or if you could respond to this post and I'll reach out to you.

Thank you so much!

I'm no longer low vision as I lost my sight completely in 2014, however during my descent into blindness between late-2011 and early-2014, I found Apple's implementation of Zoom and Inverted Negative colors to be quite useful and superior to everything else, especially when paired with a Magic Mouse for quick zooming in and out adjustments using its touch sensor. People with low vision are far less likely to use screen-readers since using computers with sight is always a superior experience; the people who tend to use screen-readers more often are the mostly or totally blind whose ability to read using vision has either diminished significantly or is non-existent, so you're targeting the wrong crowd, and I suggest researching what kind of perception problems can result from faltering vision before actually thinking that you can come up with a solution.
