I am having a similar problem with the Chime app. It went silent with the upgrade. I have it on my list of things to investigate, but haven't got there yet.
I wonder if it's related to my having turned on grouped notifications.
But then I also notice the sound I had when forcing a refresh in the iCatcher podcast app is gone too, so who knows.

The first thing to try is probably opening the app. Sometimes background notifications are weird if the app isn't running. Then I guess stuff like notification settings and focus modes.
Hello. I actually noticed this throughout the beta cycle, and hoped it would be fixed by now. I also think it has something to do with the redesigned notification system. I've subscribed to this thread in case anyone finds a solution. Chime was my app of choice, however I've tried several apps.
I have also tried several of them when I noticed Westminster chimes stopped working and came up empty. I tried chime, background hourly something or other, and I think that was it. Nonetheless, I already miss my hourly notifications and hope this can be sorted sooner rather than later.
As I said, it's still working on my old iPad Pro with diii. Has anyone written to any developers asking about this? Played with notifications settings? Maybe played with focus mode settings?
I suspect notifications in iOS 15 is broken. Besides WhatsApp, messages and mail, many of the apps which i use including Chime, silently deliver notifications and do not play the usual notification tones.
Sadly, I got it up and running at 2 minutes past the hour and have to wait 58 of them to see if it works, but I'm giving this a shot.
I didn't completely delete all of the apps I've tried, (they're still in the library), and I fear when this is finally fixed I'll suddenly have like 5 bells going off all at once. Oh well, then at least I have options.
I think our theory on the updated notification system is correct. This app was recently updated, and is working as before. Note, you will have to turn off banners, along with show on lock screen in order to stop the popups, but it does look like developers are finally fixing their apps.https://apps.apple.com/us/app/big-ben/id301046876

i got 2 updated apps, and will try them out, but my question now:
I need something like my Old Almost time app, this app gives me an alarm before each hour, and i found it very very helpful.
Let's say, 1.50, 2.50 etc, This gives me time to finish something before the end of this hour.
Any alternatives here?

Same goes for Diii notify. it used to work in iOS 14, but after updating to iOS 15, all sound notifications when silent.
Same with ships Clock and Marine Bells

The weirdest thing, however, is that those apps don't work on my 12 pro max, but on the xs of a friend, they work perfectly.
Voice clock doesn’t work in background
