I'm well aware of the awesome recordings iPhones are able to make, both audio and video, but a limitation that holds me back is that (especially videos) automatically go to iCloud!, on which I'm on the free 5-GB plan.
So when I started hearing hOn "Mac Rumorsabout an option within Settings, called Local Capture Settings, which goes on to explain There's now an option to set a location in the Files app for audio and video recordings from calls. It's available by going to Settings > General > Local Capture.
But I donβt think this does what I want! I'd like for when recording videos on the iPhone, for them not to go automatically to iCloud, but at the same time, I'd like to keep Photos active on there! I wish Apple would come out with an option for photos, and another one for videos!
So for those who create Youtube content with the iPhone's video camera, how do you'll go around this fact, of not taking up iCloud storage, specially? Does this new "Local Capture Settings" actually change the storage of not only calls, but all videos and audio, to something else that's not the default "Downloads" folder, dus avoids automatic iCloud sync?
Thanks in advance for any tips or tricks you'll can share on this subject.
