Hello everyone hope you are well. I wanted to change my google map's language to UK English so have changed the language from our universal settings; however, I am not able to change the voice to a British voice even though I have restarted my phone. The navigation still speaks in an American voice. can somebody help? Thanks.

Region

After you change your device region to United Kingdom, google maps will speak in a British accent, go to settings, general, language and region, region, and change it to United Kingdom.
There’s a lot of consequences when doing this, the date format will be different on everything systemwide, for example, if it’s September 4, the lock screen would say Friday, September 4, in the UK, it would say Friday, 4 September, and the time will be displayed in military time, for example, 7:55 PM, it would display as 19:55.
Also there will be phone number formatting issues, in the US, we format our phone numbers like this: (360) 555-1234, and the UK will have phone numbers formatted as: 7123 456789.
Right now if you have your region set to United Kingdom, almost all apps will show you everything that is based in the United Kingdom, for example when registering on WhatsApp, it would automatically fill in the country code +44, which is the United Kingdom, but if you have it set to the US, it will put in the country code +1, but some apps use the SIM card for the country code and it won’t be affected, but just so you know if you change your region to United Kingdom, a lot of changes will take affect immediately, including the Google Maps Voice

Hello. I was having the same…

Hello.
I was having the same issue when I wanted google maps to speak in Greek, but my phone's language was set to UK English.
When I changed the preferred language of google maps to Greek, I didn't have voice guidance at all.

Unfortunately I had to do the following.
Uninstall google maps.
Change temporarily my phone's language to Greek from Settings, general, language and region.
Redownload google maps from the app store.
Change back my phone's language to UK English.
Finally I had to go to settings, find the google maps option and change the preferred language of google maps to Greek.
Now it works as I wish, but I understand that it requires many steps.

In my opinion, from the moment we change the preferred language of google maps, it should be able to download the appropriate voice files on its own.
