Using the Siri voices that aren’t static with voiceover

Hi everyone. Hope you’re all doing well. I am using an iPhone 17e with iOS 26. I’ve taken to using the Siri voices with my iPhone, specifically Siri voice 4, US female. However, I’m tired of the voice sounding static, or low quality. Is there a way I can delete the version of the voice that sounds horrible, and install a different one? I remember you used to be able to do such things, but Lord knows I can’t remember the steps to do it. I like the kind of voice, for example, that is being used when you’re using speak screen. So if anyone knows how to do it, please please help. It would be great to actually enjoy. Not just the voices expression, but the quality as well. Also, can you do the same thing on Apple Watch? If so, how?

I don’t think there’s a way to do that anymore. They’ve reduced the file sizes so the Siri voices that get used within voiceover, lower quality version than what itself uses. Although I have to say my experience is with my iPhone 15 and my iPhone SE for generation both running iOS 26.5 I have not experienced any static in the series voiceover voices. You may have to delete it and reinstall it. They’re a little bit lower quality, but I’ve not heard the static at all. I hope that helps. I think you may want to do is possibly reset your voice settings maybe something happened within that. You may need to reset your voice settings and then reselect the voice again.

Just an opinion so, take this with a grain of salt, my 17 speakers crackle with Alex and other voices I believe that the speakers are lower quality in comparison with the 16 series!

I think you’re right. I’ve heard there was some kind of issue with the 17 phones with the speakers or some of the voices came out correctly. As I said before, I’m definitely not seeing this in my iPhone SE 2022 or my iPhone 15. Sorry that you’re having this experience. It’s gonna be awful after all the money we spend on these phones which do not have a good speakers. But the voices that are used in VoiceOver are definitely lower quality than the ones that are used in itself for sure. At least the US English ones are because they reduced the file size as a smaller file sizes. None of the other Voice is available for voiceover or that small.
