Wondering if anyone has experienced the following VoiceOver issue.
In the Mail and Messages apps, the smart replies shown above the virtual keyboard are inaccessible for VoiceOver. Often, VO can’t even find them. If it can, it doesn’t read them properly. From my experience, it reads them as “ Proofread Smart Reply” and “ Rewrite Smart Reply”.
If I have a hardware keyboard connected, the smart replies are read correctly, and can be selected.
I’ve only discovered this bug under iOS and iPadOS 26.1.
I’ve reported this to Apple Accessibility.

why not picked up in testing
was this issue not picked up in testing though, by voiceover users?
I was going to get an Ai-based phone but may hold off. not saying i'd use this feature every single day, but yet again another issue sighted people would not have to ever contend with, it just works.
always us, who have to suffer, all sighted people moan about are the cameras, or battery, never issues rarely, with the OS itself.
