What is Edit.md?
It is a markdown editing app made by the blind, for the blind. However, this is not your average notepad app. Here is just a small list of features.
- Ability to write in markdown, with options to insert markdown elements, such as headings, codeblocks, lists, links, etc.
- Custom VoiceOver rotors to let you navigate by lists, codeblocks, etc.
- Allows you to export your markdown files as docx, html, pdf and plaintext.
- Projects, take an existing folder of markdown files and have them show up like a coding workspace, with subfolders and everything.
- Ability to import files into markdown, from docx, html, plaintext and pdf, including inaccessible pdf's, using apple's vision frameworks.
- Customizable keyboard shortcuts on mac os.
Pricing
Once this app is released to the public, as this is currently on testflight, this will not be free. to keep prices competitive, here is my pricing. $3.99 a month. $39.99 a year. and for those who want a lifetime option, it will be $129.99. please note that the monthly and yearly options do have a seven day trial with them, but the lifetime does not due to apple's guidelines and regulations.

Are you kidding me?
- We can use other free and accessible apps like EZText, which supports a broader range of formats rather than being a dedicated markdown editor, and MarkdownEditor, which supports exporting/converting markdown files to .pdf and .html. So yes, both are free, both are accessible, and they do what your unique (sarcastic) app does, at a much higher (sarcastic) price of 0 dollars and 0 cents.
- Those who have a Windows PC can use an NVDA add-on to use browse mode navigation commands while editing markdown files without having to purchase this app at all. Wait, you have to subscribe to it; it's not a lifetime purchase. No free features, no one-time purchase, and no extra convenience that this app can give you as long as you have a Windows PC and use NVDA, because you can even use the good old basic Notepad to create and edit markdown files.
- Those who have a mac, in turn, can just use MarkdownEditor to convert their markdown files into .html and then browse them like any web page.
So the developer aims to keep the price competitive in terms of expensiveness. The current exchange rates for the US dollar vs. the Turkish lira is something like 45 or so, so there's no way I would pay for such a trap-I mean such an app... Sorry for the typo... (sarcastic) but I also strongly recommend those living in the United States to push the developer to acknowledge the fact that this app offers nothing for such a heavy price, and promoting it as "accessible" alone doesn't make it the single indispensible option; you have other alternatives.response

To clear up a factual error first: Edit.md is not subscription-only. Alongside the $3.99/month and $39.99/year plans, there is a one-time lifetime purchase option for $129.99.
Regarding workflows: yes, free workarounds exist. Anyone can write plain text in a basic editor, run command-line tools like Pandoc, or manually juggle third-party OCR utilities just to read an inaccessible scanned PDF. But running a daisy chain of external scripts and converting files into HTML just to check your work isn't a workflow—it's friction.
Edit.md was built specifically to eliminate that friction: - In-Editor VoiceOver Rotor Navigation: Move through your active document directly by headings, lists, links, and code blocks without leaving the editor or relying on a web browser. - Integrated OCR & Scanning: Ingest scanned PDFs and images directly into structured, editable Markdown instead of juggling separate conversion apps. - Single-Shortcut Export: Instantly output to multiple file formats with custom typography and layout settings.
Dedicated writing environments exist across the industry (apps like Ulysses are standard for a reason) because people value integrated tools that save time.
I understand that currency exchange rates make standard App Store pricing steep internationally, and I appreciate that feedback. But building deep, native accessibility into an integrated writing environment is substantial work, and developers have every right to offer sustainable purchase options alongside the free tools in the community.
Everyone is free to choose whichever tool fits their workflow and budget.

Criticism is fair.
What's not is attacking a developer who's come on here to ask for feedback. Sarcasm achieves nothing and makes you look needlessly angry, aggressive, and quite frankly a tad obnoxious.
Oh, also, I find a wonderful thing I can do when I don't want to pay for something... Is not pay for it. It works rather well.
