Problem purchasing apps since upgrading to the iPhone XS Max

I've recently got a new phone, the iPhone XS max.
Ever since I've got it, I've had problems purchasing items.
I'll give an example. I've been trying to buy gold from the dice world store.
It says confirm with side button. Whenever I press it, I get an error message saying error, your purchase has been cancelled or has timed out, try again.
It does this every time.
It also says double click to pay and i'm not sure what you quite have to do.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have to double click my side button to confirm ... although it may vary depending on your settings.

I think I can help here. I had this same problem till I got my face ID working properly. When you purchase any app, or if it ever asks for confirmation before installing an app, you need to hold your phone up in front of your face as you do to use face ID and click the side button twice quickly. Wait a second or two, the app store iss a bit slow sometimes. I'f you've been successful you'll hear a two note musical chime on an octave. If not, move the phone slightly and try it again. I hope that helps.

As others have mentioned, you press the side button twice while holding the phone in faceID position, meaning holding it as if you were going to unlock. Once successfully confirmed, you'll get the purchased chime from the app store.
