Overcast, Downcast and iCatcher refreshing feeds

Hello everyone,
I have three podcast apps on my phone. I have Overcast, Downcast and iCatcher. All three are fully accessible. Out of these three Overcast is the only one I can get to reliably refresh the feeds in the backgtround and then give me a notification about new episodes. The only way I can get iCatcher or Downcast to refresh is to open up the apps. I have them all set to allow background app refreshing. Even messing with the time interval for the apps to refesh the feeds does not help. What else might I try? I really like the controls on iCatcher. I recently purchased this one. I also like how it will tell you the exact time you have remaining in a podcast. Any help Will be greatly appreciated.

Rgards,
Greg Wocher
