News Concerning KNFB Reader?

By Nathan, 18 September, 2014

iOS and iPadOS

Hello, all.

After IOS 8 was released today, I noticed that when searching the AppStore, the new KNFB app did not appear. Since KNFB (www.knfbreader.com) did not provide an official date, only that it was going to be released alongside IOS 8, one could assume that that date was supposed to be today. If the company continues to anticipate a date, then not release their software as planned, consumers will become frustrated and not bother with the app. I can understand not having the app in the AppStore by August, but now, I don't really know what's going on. It seems that, we as blind individuals, have to wait longer to receive a blindness-specific app longer than people who have sight. Just curious if this app will be released is all.

Nathan.

Hi Nathan. The reason it's not in the ap store at the moment is cause they've given it to apple to go through to the store and that can take a little while untill apple approves the app. You could try contacting the people at. www.knfbreader.com but that's what they told me last night.

The KNFB Reader App has been released today. I see the date of the original post was the same as iOS 8. So within less than 24 hours afterword the wait is over. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the app directly until payday, but this app will be in my hot little hand ASAP.

It indeed does what it said

I admit it, I was very skeptical about it and to be fair, some of my comments I won't take back because of past experiences with the company. Nevertheless, it works. It works great actually considering it is on the iPhone 5S. I am not running IOS 8 either so things do seem to function fine under 7 for now. Let's leave the discussion of the app until the threads start on here.
