Move Apps Out Of Folders In iOS 10

Forum
iOS and iPadOS

Hello. I have a whole lot of apps I want to move out of a folder on my iPhone. I want to use the new flicking method introduced in iOS 10 to do this because it's a lot more easy and fast than doing it the other way. But here is my issue.
When I'm inside a folder,
First, I flick to "arrange apps."
Then, "move (app)."
Then I am only given 2 choices: "activate" and "cancel move (app)."
I listened to a podcast from Anonymouse and when he demonstrated this, after he clicked "move (app)," there was an option, "drop (app) outside of folder." But I'm not getting this option. It's just, not there. Am I doing something wrong? Could this be an accessibility bug? Is anyone else having this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated. thankyou.

Once you pick move app, do a scrub to close the folder. You can then place the app where you want by swiping down.

Hello. I don't use folders, but I accidentally created one while moving apps around once. Well, I wanted to move the apps out of the folder I accidentalyy created so the folder could be deleted. What I found that worked, was double tapping & holding the app, & dragging it. Hope this helps.

Hello there,

Yes, this is a known bug that had surfaced with in the iOS 10.2.x. Apple is aware of the problem and is in the works of hoping to correct this issue. As mentioned above the alternative solution for now is either do a two fingers scrub or double tap and hold and drag it toward the bottom of the screen to take it out of the folder. As I know that the older option to simply have the option with in the Rotor would be great but for now we are stuck with these alternatives until this has been fixed.

Take care!

Oh, lol. Just finally updated to iOS 10.2.1 after hanging onto 9.x for as long as I could. The nagging reminders finally got the best of me and I just did it to shut my iPhone up, haha. Anyway, I did the scrub technique intuitively and then went to where I wanted to place the app and swiped to drop the app there. I didn't realize there should be a rotar option to send the app out of its folder but that's pretty cool. Looking forward to them fixing that issue, but in the meantime at least the workarounds are pretty straightforward.
