Latest Facebook app crashing

By Special K, 22 April, 2017

Anyone else having problems with the latest Facebook update crashing your iPhones? It doesn't crash my iPad, but after scrolling a few entries in my newsfeed om my phone, the app crashes. Uninstalling, restarting and reinstalling does nothing to solve the problem.

Yep, same result. My only hope is they release another update soon that takes this newest issue away.

Here's the funny thing, when I first read this post, I, like I am sure most of us do, opened my Facebook app to see if I could reproduce this glitch. At first, nothing, the app worked as it was supposed to. Fast-forward to 5 days later and I am now encountering this glitch myself. The app worked fine until now, after I opened it randomly just to check my feed. I to hope that they release an update to correct this. If I were Facebook, I would scrap the app entirely and start from scratch and making it simpler. Every new update, they keep adding more and more crap that makes it take longer and longer to load. Don't get me wrong, They have made some progress with regards to accessibility, but I find the app is just to cluttered with too much features. At least they should give us the ability to turn off some of these new features. For example, this "My Story" feature, there is nothing in the settings to allow us to turn this off if we don't like it. Instead, they shove this down our throats and are convinced we'll love it. I'm sure that some people might find these new features useful, but for some, their just a major nuisance. At least if we had the ability to turn it off, they would give us the choice. I know that this might be a rant and of course, I'll just keep using the app as all my family and friends use it, but sometimes, less is more.

There's an update

Version 90.0 seems to have fixed the bug. I had it starting a couple of days ago. Thought I was screwing up somehow. Personally, I'd rather see developers, not just facebook, stop giving us stupid junk about, "Bug fixes." or my personal dislike, "We update the app every week..." Um sure you did and you can code like a whiz but are to dumb to write a simple, here's what is fixed? I don't want a long description, just the bug with fb crashing, yeah we squashed it. I wish they would now work on the main site, using the Mac with voice over, you can not compose statuses without not hearing speech. In other words, I start writing something, I backspace, only to not hear anything. Annoying and they haven't gotten off their asses to fix it. It acts like the cursor is in the text field, but no speech. You can use the arrows just fine though. I really wonder how much of the facebook accessibility is just lip service andhow much they give two craps about us.
