iPhone 13 mini owners: does its audio have bass?

Hello friends, I hope and wish you are well.

I recently purchased an iPhone 13 mini for testing purposes. This device is used, but apparently never received any kind of maintenance.

One thing I noticed right away is that the standard audio of the device does not seem to have low frequencies, the famous bass. Mids and treble are OK.

I wanted to know from you who still have or have had this device: is its audio quality really that, or is my device something wrong?

Thank you for the answer, have a great day everyone.

I have had my iPhone 13 Mini since October of 2021. I like very much the small form factor. The audio output on the phone’s external speakers is fine for Voiceover, phone calls and some podcasts. For music, not so good. When connected to a Bluetooth speaker, the audio output sounds good, giving plenty of bass and low frequency audio. It can play low frequencies, just not on the device. I am using a Marshal Emberton and Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra earbuds, second generation. To fit all the components of a regular iPhone into a miniaturized form, compromises needed to be made. Obviously smaller and fewer external speakers were used.

While not on an iPhone 13 mini, my iPhone SE 2022 suffers similar limitations. The speakers are decent enough for listening to an audiobook or podcast, but I prefer to always use earbuds instead, much richer sound that way. 😇

Thank you for the two answers above. I should have explained myself better. I understand that an iPhone of this size suffers from some kind of thumbnails of its internal components, which certainly impacts the speaker. However, my concern is that the original speakers of this phone have been replaced by others of lower quality, because I believe that, even not miniature size, the sound of this phone should not lose so much in bass, at least that's what I know from Apple. Of course, at higher volumes, the sound quality is affected on any smartphone

Who is the factor for all of the smaller iPhone models. I have an iPhone SE 2022 as my secondary device. I’m OK with the internal speakers. I don’t need any specialized equipment for that. I just use Music on that phone anyway. But it’s definitely a big difference in sound between that and my primary device is a regular base model iPhone 15. I think it’s just the nature of anything smaller because you have to put smaller speakers in there in order to fit the size of a device. It could help to use earbuds. I’m not sure. I only use the occasionally and I just have the regular wired Apple EarPods. That may help you with the issue.
